Made in England, Dunhill lighters are some of the most expensive produced. They are called “luxury lighters” with prices for a new lighters costing upwards of $150. Dunhill makes a number of different models, and one of their classic lighters is the centerpiece of any collection. The dunhill Unique was first introduced in 1924, and was the world's first luxury lighter that could be held and operated in one hand. Alfred Dunhill was responsible for both the invention of the very first one-handed lighter, and the very first luxury butane gas lighter. Dinky Toys first appeared in early 1934 when Meccano Ltd of Liverpool, England introduced a new line of "modelled miniatures" under the trade mark "Meccano Dinky Toys". The first announcement for the new line was made in the April 1934 issue of Meccano Magazine. |
